Use DoveRunner Lab in ChatGPT and Claude
The DoveRunner Lab MCP server lets an AI app search DoveRunner documentation, find Academy tutorials and open the Lab demos from a chat. It is free, needs no account or sign-in, and sells nothing. Add it from the ChatGPT or Claude directory where it is listed, or connect it yourself as a custom MCP server.
What it can do
- search: look up DoveRunner documentation (Multi-DRM, Forensic and Distributor Watermarking, Anti-Piracy, Transcoding & Packaging, Mobile App Security, release notes) in English or Korean.
- fetch: read one documentation page in full, using an ID returned by search.
- find_tutorial: find Lab Academy courses and tutorial lessons by topic, with titles, durations and links.
- play_demo: open a Lab Playground demo (Multi-DRM video on demand, Multi-DRM live, or Forensic Watermarking). It plays in a panel in the chat where the AI app allows DRM playback, and otherwise gives you a link to the demo in the Lab Playground.
Add it from a directory
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins and search for "DoveRunner Lab". In Claude, open Settings > Connectors, browse the directory and search for "DoveRunner Lab".
- Select it and add it to your account. No sign-in to DoveRunner is needed.
- Start a new chat and ask a question, or use one of the example prompts below. If you do not see DoveRunner Lab in a directory yet, use the custom connection in the next sections; it connects to the same server.
Connect it yourself: ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com > Plugins > Add > Add custom MCP server. Menu names can vary by plan and app version.
- Name: DoveRunner Lab. MCP server URL: https://lab.doverunner.com/mcp (exactly this, no trailing slash). Authentication: none.
- Accept the custom server notice and create it. If the tool list appears, you are done; otherwise open the new entry under Plugins and install it.
- Start a new chat, type @DoveRunner Lab or turn it on from the tools menu, then ask a question. If the tools do not appear, use Refresh tools in the entry's settings, or remove the entry and add it again.
Connect it yourself: Claude
- In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner may need to add it first.
- Name: DoveRunner Lab. URL: https://lab.doverunner.com/mcp. Leave authentication empty.
- Turn the connector on in a new chat from the tools menu, then ask a question.
- In Claude Code, run: claude mcp add --transport http doverunner-lab https://lab.doverunner.com/mcp
Other MCP clients
- Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can connect to https://lab.doverunner.com/mcp without authentication.
- The server is stateless: each request is independent and no session is kept.
Example prompts
- Name the connector in your prompt, as in the examples below. Otherwise an AI app may answer from a web search instead of using DoveRunner Lab.
- Use DoveRunner Lab to search the docs for how to configure a Widevine license policy.
- Use DoveRunner Lab to find a tutorial on packaging DRM content with AWS MediaPackage.
- Use DoveRunner Lab to play the Multi-DRM demo.
- Use DoveRunner Lab to show me the forensic watermarking demo.
- Use DoveRunner Lab to play the live demo. (The live channel starts on demand: if the first reply says it is starting, ask again after about a minute.)
Good to know
- Inline playback needs the DRM support of the AI app's browser or app. ChatGPT on the web plays Widevine in Chrome and FairPlay in Safari. Claude on the web, desktop and Android blocks DRM playback in its panels, so there the demo gives you a link to the Lab Playground instead of playing.
- The demos use DoveRunner demo content only. The watermark in the Forensic Watermarking demo is invisible.
- The server reads public DoveRunner documentation and Lab tutorials. It does not read your conversation, files or memory.
Privacy and support
- What the server receives and logs is described in the AI apps section of the Lab privacy policy.
